Aluclad Timber Windows
& Doors
A robust timber structural frame with an exterior aluminium cover, combining the ambience of timber inside with easy-care aluminium protection outside.
The Best of Timber and Aluminium
Aluclad windows, also known as aluminium-clad timber windows, are predominantly constructed using a robust timber structural frame with an aluminium cover on the exterior.
The exterior aluminium helps protect the window from natural elements, while the timber interior creates a warm, natural and high-end appearance inside the home.
This combination offers homeowners the easy-care benefits of aluminium on the outside and the ambience and insulating qualities of timber on the inside.

How Aluclad Construction Works
Aluclad Timber or Thermally Broken Aluminium?
Thermally broken aluminium joinery uses a low-conductive structural barrier, commonly a polyamide strip, between the inside and outside aluminium profiles. This reduces heat transfer through the metal frame.
Aluminium-clad timber joinery uses a solid timber structural frame with an exterior aluminium skin. It combines the insulating and visual qualities of timber with exterior aluminium protection.
| Consideration | Thermally Broken Aluminium | Aluclad Timber |
|---|---|---|
| Primary Material | Solid aluminium with a polyamide barrier | Solid timber with exterior aluminium shielding |
| Thermal Efficiency | High | Maximum, based on natural timber insulation |
| Interior Appearance | Modern, sleek, industrial or minimalist | Warm, classic and natural timber finish |
| Maintenance | No interior or exterior maintenance stated | Interior timber may require sealing or painting |
| Price Position | Premium | Luxury / very high |
